Archaeology and History Confirms the Reliability of the Bible

Throughout centuries there has not been no other ancient book that endured more attacks by hostile forces than the Bible. Critics searching for an assumed fault so they could disprove to remove the very thing that pricks at their conscious. Thus their motive behind the need to discredit the Bible.

In an aged old war against the Word of God which began back in Genesis 3 in the Bible. When the serpent knowing what God had told Adam and Eve, launched an attack on God's truth with a lie - that if Adam and Eve believed would cause them to sin against God. Their action would then remove God’s spiritual presence, protection, and guidance, from their lives to a great degree because of sin. Afterward they were removed from Eden, and forced into a world that was now cursed by sin too. Life from that moment on would be very hard and challenging to survive.

God however, never abandon the first couple and despite their fall and that of the entire human race, God would still be engaged to help, direct, and protect them as long as they obeyed His Word and continued to serve Him only. Something that would become challenging and would bring great pain and suffering by sin. In an experience Adam and Eve would witness through their own children. In a cycle and curse by a fallen nature that would continue for generations until God himself, would arrive on the scene on earth physically, to remove the penalty of death that sin had caused.

In doing so, would fulfill the prophecy predicted by Old Testament prophets about the Messiah. For it would be through Jesus Christ that remission for sins would happen, and the gift of eternal salvation to those who believed in Christ.

Since that time Satan continues to attack the Word of God. One way was by his critics who falsely implied that there was a long span between the time the events in the New Testament occurred and the time they actually were recorded. Critics claimed there is a large gap archaeologically between the earliest copies made and the autographs (original writing) of the New Testament. Gaps that were proven to only exist in the minds of the Bible critics.

Earliest Ancient Manuscripts by man recorded:

9D6F2C23-EE0F-4A57-936D-1FC11598D37CAristotle
, considered a popular Greek Philosopher who founded the Peripatetic school of philosophy, and the Aristotelian tradition, had gained popularity for his writings "Ode to Poetics" which were written between 384 and 322 B.C. Research confirms that the earliest copy of his work was dated 1100 A.D., and there are only forty-nine confirmed manuscripts by Aristotle. The gap between his original writing and the earliest copy made took 1,400 years. Thats 1400 years before his Poetics surfaced again, and if Aristotle's philosophy were so powerful then what happened to his school and the Aristotelian traditions he established?

5E7C8659-F577-4008-926E-8C0D0BD7D697Plato, an Athenian philosopher during the Classical period in Ancient Greece, was the founder of the Platonist school of thought and the Academy, the first institution of higher learning in the Western world. His writing Tetralogies, written 427-347 B.C. Research confirms that the earliest copy of his work was dated 900 A.D., when only seven manuscripts by Plato were found. Thats a gap of over 1200 years.

Here are two of the worlds top philosophers hailed the top "Enlightenment Agents" of Greek wisdom, whose writings were never recorded until twelve to fourteen hundred years after their original manuscripts were written? Why did it take that long for the modern world to learn of their man made philosophies? Something to think about.

Let’s now look at the Biblical New Testament Manuscript “gap” critics implied to encourage distrust of the Canon origination.

Jesus was Crucified in 30 A.D. The New Testament was written between 48 and 95 A.D. The oldest manuscripts date to the last quarter of the first century, and the second oldest was dated to 125 A.D. This gives us a narrow gap of thirty-five to forty years from the originals written by the apostles.

From the early centuries, we have some 5,300, Greek manuscripts of the New Testament. Altogether, recorded to include the Syria, Latin, Coptic, and Aramaic copies, we have a whopping 24,633 texts of the ancient New Testament to confirm the wording of the Scriptures.

We can see that there was no great "gap” period between the events of the New Testament and the New Testament recording. Nor is there a great time-lapse between the original writings and the oldest copies. With the great body of manuscript evidence, it can be proved, beyond a doubt, that the New Testament says exactly the same things today as it originally did when it was written over 2,000 years ago. No world philosopher can boast in having such influence yet, the Bible can.

Approved Date for Canon:

Critics then attacked the Bible again by implying that the Canon approved was done during the great ecumenical councils of 336,382, 397, and 419 A.D. They implied the New Testament books were not all there prior to the ecumenical councils. That all the books were approved or included during those meetings. In a statement that again had been proven false, as well, as their lack of knowledge and understanding behind the meetings.

In fact, one result of these gatherings was to confirm the Church's belief of the books already in the Bible that were divinely inspired. Therefore, the Church, at these meetings, neither added to nor took away from the books of the Bible. At that time, the thirty-nine Old Testament books had already been accepted, as well as the twenty-seven books in the New Testament. Each document, being accepted as it was penned in the first century, and was then passed on the Christians of the next century. So this foolishness about the Roman Emperor Constantine dropping books from the Bible is simply an uneducated rumor. (by serpent agents against the Bible that if believed, would keep many from embracing the Bible as total truth.)

Fulfilled Prophecies

There is no other book on earth who foretold events centuries prior that happened. And no other religion that tells how the world began, and how all life was created, but more importantly, has the supernatural ability to predict things to happen for a future time. Prophecy that had been fulfilled at the exact times just as the Bible predicted. This is yet, another thing that adds extreme credibility to the Bible. For no other religion or book in the world can speak to the human heart like the Bible can because the words found therein, are truly from God. (2 Timothy 3:15-17)

For what other God could predict events to happen in the future that “happen” as recorded in the Bible? Unless it were from a God that was outside our scope of existence, time restraint, and dimension to do.

For God “is” outside our limited capabilities and knowledge. To predict future events as the Bible does is definitely from an intelligence and force not restricted by time, space, or matter.

Think about that!

The Scriptures predicted the rise and fall of great empires like Greece and Rome (Daniel 2:39,40), and foretold the destruction of cities like Tyre and Sidon (Isaiah 23). Tyre's demise is recorded by ancient historians, who tell how Alexander the Great lay siege to the city for seven months.
8772785B-56AB-4C08-B913-32B89362B299 King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon had failed in a 13-year attempt to capture the seacoast city and completely destroy its people. During the siege of 573 B.C., much of the population of Tyre moved to its new island home about a half mile from the land city. Here it remained surrounded by walls as high as 150 feet until judgment fell in 332 B.C. with the arrival of Alexander the Great. In the seven-month siege, he fulfilled the remainder of the prophecies (Zechariah 9:4; Ezekiel 26:12) concerning the city at sea by completely destroying Tyre, killing over 8,000 of its inhabitants and sending 30,000 of its population into slavery.

Before Alexander could reach the island, he used the rubble of the old demolished city of Tyre, just like the Bible predicted, and cast them into the sea, building a 200 foot-wide-causeway out to the island. The truth seen is that if the Bible predicted something to happen God would give the ability and wisdom to make it happen despite the odds. (Like a man given the wisdom to build a huge boat that would one day house inside its hull the lives of those God chose to save from the flood)

Alexander's death and the murder of his two sons was also foretold in the Scripture.

Another straddling prophecy was Jesus' who predicted the destruction of Jerusalem, and the scattering of the Jewish people throughout the world, which is recorded in Luke 21. In 70 A.D. Jerusalem was destroyed by Titus of the Roman Empire. Jesus Christ in Matthew 24;1,2, predicted the complete destruction of the Temple of God.

Since 70 A.D. the Temple Mount still remains in ruins, but that will soon change for the final prophesies recorded in Daniel, and the book of Revelation remain to be fulfilled.

Warning: Understand as were the prophesies of old that came to pass so will ALL of God’s prophesies come to pass. And what is prophesied in the Bible to happen next in the rise of a one world order and anti-Christ dictator. We are seeing things moving into place around the world in the fulfillment of Bible prophecy that now have countless people confused and alarmed in what’s being seen around the world. Time is running out and Jesus needs you to get on the boat of salvation in Christ before the Lord shuts the door. The thunder of darkness is fast approaching.

“Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man.” (Luke 17:26.)

The Old Testament prophets declared Christ would be born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2) to a virgin (Isaiah 7:14), he would be betrayed for thirty pieces of silver (Zecheriiah 11:12,13). He would die by crucifixion (Psalm 22), and be buried in a rich man's tomb (Isaiah 53:9).

There was only one person who could fulfill all the messianic prophecies of the Old Testament who lived before 70 A.D. - Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of Mary.

The truth is the Word of God "The Bible" is from God and defends itself against hostile attacks that try to discredit its value, or purpose. Nothing will harm the Bible and it can never be removed nor erased.

“For the Word of the Lord endures forever, and was given to you.”
(1 Peter 1:25).

The Lord Jesus said, “For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.”
(Matthew 5:18)

Woe, to them who attack God’s Word, who allow their life that God had gave to be used as a pawn for the Serpent against The Creator. In a battle of the ages between life and death, truth and lies, good and evil, in a war that Jesus Christ had already won. For the truth is that you are either standing with God or standing with the enemy. There is no middle ground for anyone today.

The Lord is alive, and very active in the lives of those who love Him. There is nothing else in this world than connecting to our Creator, and to experience a spiritual rebirth that is available for those who see Jesus to believe, and follow.

For Adam and Eve had experienced spiritual death when they sinned. Once God came into the world to pay the penalty for our sin, then upon Christ’s resurrection and ascension to heaven, was the Father able to release His Holy Spirit to believers.

It’s then that a believer becomes a new creation, as God unlocks the supernatural understanding within His Word. The Holy Spirit then (using God’s Word) gently guides to mature the believer spiritually. And the strength that comes from studying God’s Word and from prayer, truly changes our lives. No other book in the world has that ability or power. No other book in the world is like the Living Word of God, for its message came at a great price that God alone, paid the debt out His love for you, and for me.
