The Airline That Cares! Attn:Delta Flight Crews In Africa

Becky-orphanage With the compassion of many Delta flight crewmembers who bid trips to Africa. The Pouponniere Orphanage in Dakar, Senegal, has been able to care for more babies than otherwise could. With many caring Flight Attendants and Pilots collecting donations from their home churches and private sectors for diapers, powder milk, and other baby supplies has helped the orphanage continue to help more babies than ever in the ever-growing population of orphans in Dakar, Senegal.

Upon my last visit there, I became over-whelmed in seeing something that tore031002-F-3838S-094 my heart by the need for the babies to receive more human touch than only during feedings and diaper changes. For babies within the first months of life need to connect and feel loved, like all babies do. For love nurtures in more ways than we will ever understand and for that, I want to encourage more Delta flight crews to provide that need as much as possible while in Dakar on layover.

Many of you have already taken time from your time of rest to provide such a blessing to the many babies at the orphanage.  And know that your efforts are most appreciated, especially from the tiny lives your hearts touch. But I ask you now to please encourage more co-workers to donate their time while on layover to help these precious babies feel loved, and valued.

For Mother Teresa once said: “Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat.”

I want to thank you all, for with-out you, the Pouponniere Orphanage would have no choice but to turn babiesdakar orphanage babys in car seats away due to their limited resources in supplies.  I am proud to say that when Delta Flight Crews heard of the need, they selflessly stepped up to help, and now, more babies are being cared for then ever before at Pouponniere Orphanage. Thank You!

Let us continue to make this positive impact on these innocent lives, and the many other areas where Delta flies in Africa. For Delta is quick receiving the reputation of not only the world’s largest airline, but an airline who cares!

Below are two videos made which confirms some of Delta’s work in Africa by a few of the crewmembers. Great job guys! May God bless you all as we together continue to make the kind of impact only love can for the children in Africa.  For love not only changes communities, but lives!  Let us also remember the saying from a special woman who gave from her heart to children in need during her life:

“The miracle is not that we do this work, but that we are happy to do it.”                         Mother Teresa
