YOUR CHOICE! FOR 2009

Inc-imageresizeCA331NLL Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. Psalm 1:1-2

It is your choice—to follow after, stand around with, or join in with those who chase after the holy or unholy. But of this, I am sure, whatever you chase after, you will become…

You undoubtedly have seen a person’s life fall apart or blow up who has become entangled with the wrong friends, a secret tryst, or a devious plan to acquire some illegal, unhealthy, or immoral possession. And it never ended well. Loss of family, job, reputation…for what? An immediate pleasure that steals from self and humiliates God?

The Psalmist gives us such a simple picture of what, how, and whom to chase—if you want to know real joy.

A journey of discovery that starts by finding the truth to life and about ourselves. Something that begins in looking to God, and His word. Then once you have stared in that mirror of discovery God then opens your ability to see. A spiritual veil is removed which reveals the truth to life as things are.

Something that then helps you to choose the right people to hang around with, to make friends, to date, or to go into a life long relationship with - such as marriage. The phrase "If only I knew" would never be heard, for God’s joy would be in place of that wrong choice and pain. Let’s face it; life is short, need an example? Go to a funeral!

In that fact confirms a truth of how important our choices truly are. So search for God and those who love Him, who are of REAL faith. Whom God could then use to: teach, encourage, build, believe in, and mentor you. People of God He could use to open doors of opportunity so that you can make a positive difference - in your world. And with that statement ask yourself.....are you? What kind of a difference are you making in the lives of those around you?

Remember, whatever you chase after you will become, and in that truth lays the legacy you will leave when you are gone.

Therefore, the secret is in the right choice too chase the holy—the Word of God—and you’ll find safe counsel, honorable companions and unending courage and opportunities. Chase the unholy—the wicked who mock the Lord and love to sin—whose lives are centered on self and you’ll become just like them. It is your and my choice. Therefore, this next year lets make our lives better than ever by seeking after what matters and has the power to better our lives.

Seek the maker of life or run from him....for what you then see, and where you then go, will determine whether you chose to walk with the wise or the dumb in the end.
